Safety And Security

We Maintain A Safe Environment

From the moment you drop your child off, until the moment you pick them up, we’re here to give you peace of mind. From the front door (where rigorous ID and entry requirements mean only authorized persons are granted access), to the classroom, to the playground, we maintain a safe environment where teachers can give nurturing attention to each child, so that they may learn and grow.

We make sure our space is child-safe by:

  • Storing dangerous chemicals and medicines out of children’s reach.
  • Cover electrical outlets, and store dangerous or breakable objects up high.
  • Fix, lock up, or discard anything that might be a danger to children.
  • Be sure all outdoor play areas are fenced in to keep children safe.
  • Resolving conflict and preventing violence are important factors in creating a safe learning environment.

Hand Washing (Keepin' It Clean)

Regular hand-washing, for children and staff, prevents the spread of germs in our school community. We keep an eye out for any signs of illness and immediately notify parents when their child is unwell, to make sure we stop any illness from spreading. Child-safe products are used on a regular schedule to clean and disinfect our classrooms.

Trained For Safety

Emergency and evacuation situations (fire, earthquakes, etc.) are provided to teachers. Our strict ratio guidelines are in place to ensure constant supervision of children. Emergency and evacuation supply items are available in each classroom, while the school has a defibrillator that was designed specifically for infants and children. We also provide CPR and first aid training to staff members, based on essential state standards.

Keeping An Eye On Things

One of our primary goals is to ensure a safe, secure school environment while providing peace of mind to our families. That’s why the entire school is monitored comprehensively, with a system of Camera Monitors and doorbell alarms. Keeping everyone safe is our top priority

Coronavirus  NYC

Our daycare follows the New York City Board of Education’s sick policy. According to the latest guidance issued to principals and posted online on Monday, New York City schools will no longer require a five-day quarantine for individuals who test positive for COVID.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ended its pandemic-era guidance, which previously recommended a five-day isolation period for those who tested positive for COVID.

Since March 1, the CDC has advised people to remain at home until they are symptom-free and they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. The CDC still recommends precautions over the following five days, including wearing a mask, social distancing, and testing.

As per the Education Department policy, individuals experiencing COVID symptoms should isolate themselves from others and get tested. Similar to the CDC guidance, the city now recommends that students and staff stay home until their symptoms have improved and they have been fever-free for 24 hours without medication. Additionally, the department urges students and staff to wear a mask and take other precautions for five days after returning to school.
